Recoil Pad Installation

Double H Gunsmithing fits recoil pads at our shop in Blanch, North Carolina. We do this as a stand-alone job, or while a stock is already here for wood refinishing. A refinish is a good time to replace a worn pad, since the stock is apart anyway. Back to all Services.

Pads we fit

Our preferred pad is KICK-EEZ. We also fit OEM replacements, Limbsaver, Pachmayr, and traditional red rubber pads from Galazan / Hawkins. Bring the pad you want, or we can provide one.

Fitting an old stock

Old stocks are often oversanded from a previous pad, and the butt can turn in at an angle. We fit the new pad to the stock contour. The pad base may sit slightly proud of the wood. Cutting the stock will bring a proud base flush, but that shortens the length of pull. We will talk that through with you before any wood is cut.

Pricing

Those figures are estimates. We confirm the estimate after we see the stock. A pad install is a good candidate for that Priority upgrade when you need the gun back in two weeks or less.
