Parkerization
Double H Gunsmithing offers Parkerization (manganese phosphate) at our shop in Blanch, North Carolina. Our tank is only large enough for a handgun, and we provide this service for USGI 1911s only.
Related metal finishes live under Rebluing, Case Hardening, and Cerakote. Back to all Services.
The example above came in severely rusted with water damage. We restored the finish with a full Parkerization. The heavy pitting from that corrosion could not be entirely removed, and some of that texture remains under the new phosphate.
What we do
- Parkerization (manganese phosphate) on USGI 1911s
- Handgun-size tank only (not sized for rifles or long guns)
- Prep and finish restoration on water-damaged or worn service pistols when the metal will take the process
If you have a different handgun or a long gun that needs a phosphate-style look, ask us. We may point you to another finish path such as Cerakote when Parkerization in our tank is not a fit.
Pricing
- Parkerization for a USGI 1911: starting around $225 plus parts
That figure is an estimate from similar past jobs and can vary with prep, rust damage, and parts that must be replaced. Prices assume payment by cash or check unless we note otherwise. Lead times follow our general repair windows on the home page lead times table unless we give a different estimate for your job.
What to bring
Bring the USGI 1911 fully unloaded. Tell us about rust, water damage, or missing parts so we can plan prep and any replacements. We will confirm the gun fits this service before we start.
