Thread Protectors
Double H Gunsmithing offers thread protectors for threaded muzzles at our shop in Blanch, North Carolina. A protector keeps dirt out of the threads and protects the muzzle crown when you are not running a suppressor or brake.
We offer two paths: inexpensive knurled thread protectors in a variety of diameters, and premium thread protectors that we make to blend seamlessly with the barrel.
Knurled thread protectors
Our knurled protectors are the practical, lower-cost option. The knurling gives you a sure grip for install and removal. We keep a variety of diameters on hand for common muzzle threads. Tell us your thread pitch and barrel diameter, and we will match a protector that fits.
Photos of our premium blended protectors will be added when we have good examples ready.
Premium thread protectors
Premium protectors are made here so they blend with the barrel contour and finish. The goal is a clean look when the can or brake is off: the protector reads as part of the muzzle rather than a bolt-on cap. These take more shop time than a stock knurled unit and are estimated for your barrel.
What we do
- Fit inexpensive knurled protectors in common diameters
- Make premium protectors that follow the barrel profile
- Match protectors to suppressor or brake threading jobs when you want one included
Suppressor threading includes a thread protector with that job; see Suppressor Threading. Standalone protectors and premium blends are handled on this page. Muzzle device work is covered under Muzzle Brakes.
Pricing
- Knurled thread protectors: $15
- Custom / premium blended protectors: start at $50
Custom protectors are estimated for your barrel when the contour or finish needs more than the starting figure. Prices assume payment by cash or check unless we note otherwise.
Getting started
Call or text 336-694-5739, or email [email protected]. Tell us the thread pitch, muzzle diameter, and whether you want a knurled protector or a premium blend. If the barrel is already here for threading or a brake, we can add the protector to that work order.
